Mobile websites

The world has moved on from 1996 when websites were just static websites. There has been a significant rise in mobile/smartphone ownership. IMS research percives the total number of handsets is set to rise to over 1 billion by 2016. In 2011 consumers were more likely to search through a mobile device than a pc, in 2012 we have already seen this trend two fold. 10 years ago businesses started to see the potential on having a website for business. Now mobile phones are here there has been a huge surge on people surfing to “ regular” websites from a mobile device, this causes the user to have web page that isn't optimised the mobile device. The user is becoming more intuitive and wants content served in the correct way.

The problem with original websites through a mobile browser is it is increasingly difficult to view the website as you have to pinch and squeeze the screen to read the parts you want to read. As a result the unique user bounces off the site, and a potential sale is lost.

With mobile web we can convert this bounce rate and retain the surfer, by allowing the web server to have a small piece of coding to be inserted so that when a mobile device such as an iPhone, Android, Blackberry or Windows mobile hits the site a small optimised version of the website would be served to the user. The small version of the main website will give the unique user access to only the most crucial areas of the site for sales purposes such as products, case studies, gallery and contact us/form. This will ultimately create a better brand awareness of the main website, increase sales of the main website but also retain users that are mobile surfers and convert sales in an instant.
